A new song from ‘Soundtrack To My Life Vol3’. ‘It’s A New World’

A new song from ‘Soundtrack To My Life Vol3’. ‘Solitude’

A new song from ‘Soundtrack To My Life Vol3’. ‘Forgiveness’

Overall, I think it fair to say that if you can't let go of "Anger" or "Resentment", then the person who did this to you still "OWNS" you, and that's surely worth thinking about...

The Acorn Theatre Penzance: 50th Anniversary Concert. Filmed using a 'FujiFilm' Finepix HS30 camera. Friday 18th October 2019

ABOVE: This was only my second concert of sorts and the first where I was actually booked into a hall. I played along with four other acts to an audience of over a hundred-and-twenty people for this commemorative occasion and should like to say a Huge thank you to Daša Filipová - the event organiser - for believing in me… The sound engineer, unfortunately, forgot to record the audio so I’m thankful for my trusty little camera with only right-sided audio for this piece of amateur footage for what was a most Important occasion for me! This still photograph comes courtesy of ‘Cosmic Xposure’ who kindly offered their talents for the cause…

This was an impromptu neighbourly get together with me offered as the live music which kinda put me on the spot, but actually was a good thing as it nudged me to finally step forward with these efforts. It was a first, and with constant showers decided that this show would go ahead no matter what, hence the makeshift gazebo and sheeting as supplied by the kindly assist of Jane Sibley a neighbour who is one of the finest troupers I’ve ever known. Thank you, Jane! For me, this was also a memorable day as 16th September 2017 was the 40th Anniversary of the death of Marc Bolan who along with T-Rex was the guy who first made music the most “Special” thing in my life as an eleven-year-old, and so started this journey all of those years ago. As I say:

Never lose sight of those Dreams, lest ye become forever cast as a Shadow, of your own doubt!

David Okangba, Social Refugee: Recorded Live At The Basement Studio. Penzance, Cornwall, England. Circa 2012-2016

These performances date from 2012 to 2016 using backing tracks from earlier drafts which aren't my best. That said you can only run with what you have and it's all I have on film for this period. For better or worse then, this is a presentation of most of my songs played live as a solo studio performance!
